Film Commission Fuji is an organization dedicated to supporting a wide range of location shooting for films, TV series and commercials.
We can assist you in many ways to ensure your filming runs smoothly.
Our mission is contributing to regional economic growth, promotion of tourism and culture, by serving as a contact point for both domestic and international location promotions and filming assistance.
Fuji city with Mount Fuji:
Fuji city is home to Japan’s most iconic filming location “Mount Fuji”.
Also, Fuji city is one of the few places that the magnificent Mount Fuji can be seen from nearly everywhere in the city.
The view from the Pacific Ocean, Mount Fuji shines brilliantly as it is bathed in direct sunlight from sunrise to sunset, making beautiful scenery throughout the day.
We are sure that you will find unique views of Mount Fuji all over the city. For example, from shopping arcades, across the harbor, and from areas with industrial chimneys.

Unique location:
Fuji city is located in Shizuoka prefecture. It’s near the geographical center of Japan at the foot of Mount Fuji, the symbol of Japan.
The world heritage of Mount Fuji, beautiful scenery of nature, and the industrial areas such as paper manufacturing plants are all coexisting in the city.
The Shinkansen enables you to have good access from Tokyo. It’s approximately 1 hour by the Shinkansen. A daily trip is possible.
There are enough accommodations for your crew.
From Tokaido shinkansen station “Shin-Fuji”, most locations can be reached within about 30 minutes.
Access:
The main area of Film Commission Fuji is Fuji city and surrounding regions.
Good access from Tokyo.
By railway (Tokaido Shinkansen or Tokaido line):
Major railway stations in Fuji city are JR Fuji station, JR Yoshiwara station on Tokaido line, and Shin-Fuji station on JR Tokaido Shinkansen.
- Shinagawa station ↔ Shin-Fuji station : approximately 59 minutes on JR Tokaido Shinkansen.
By car:
- Fuji IC and Fujikawa Smart IC on Tomei expressway, Shin-Fuji IC and Suruga Bay Numazu Smart IC on Shin-Tomei expressway are very convenient from Tokyo.
- Yoga IC (Tokyo) ↔ Fuji IC : about 1 hour 30 minutes by car.

Because we collaborate with local governments, we are able to provide smooth support and coordination for filming at locations including public facilities, hospitals, and schools.
We offer you an impactful diverse filming locations such as forests, rivers, ports, tea plantations, local railways, and industrial areas.

- We cannot support filming that violates laws or local regulations.
- Production without filming insurance will not be accepted.
- If you wish to access potential filming locations in Fuji city, including facilities or residences, please contact Film Commission Fuji in advance. Do not contact property owners directly.
- Filming without Film Commission Fuji staff is not permitted.
- To request filming production assistance, please submit your project proposal or relevant documentations to our office by email.
- We do not discriminate based on genre or contents of production when reviewing your proposals or documentations. However, acceptance of your project may depend on the decision of relevant departments in the Fuji city government.
- We assume no responsibility on any troubles or incidents that occur during filming.
- We do not negotiate prices for accommodations, meals, or location/property rental fees during filming.
- We support the recruitment of extras; however, we assume no responsibility if there are not enough extras.
- We do not provide fundraising or financial support for your production costs.
- We do not pay in advance or cover production expenses such as location/property rental fees, meals, or accommodation costs.
- Please make every effort to gain the understanding of the local residents regarding your film production. If any troubles occur during filming, please report immediately to Film Commission Fuji.
